SPORTS MASSAGE

Sports massage is the management, manipulation and rehabilitation of soft tissues of the body including muscles, tendons and ligaments.The techniques used by sports massage practitioners have been developed to ensure effective and efficient results are gained from each massage given. Sports massage may: improve circulation and lymphatic flow, assist in the removal of metabolic waste, sedate or stimulate nerve endings, increase or decrease muscle tone, increase or decre​ase muscle length, remodel scar tissue when required, assist in mental preparation for sporting participation. You do not need to be a sports performer to benefit from a sports massage. HEALTH ASSESSMENT

If you choose to engage my services, before I do anything else I give you a full health assessment. I will provide you with a report and some explanatory notes about what all the measurements mean and this is useful as it gives both a starting off point and a benchmark which you can measure your progress against. Ongoing health assessments are available so that you can review your progress and ensure that you are on the correct exercise regime. They are also a great way of feeling good about yourself and an ongoing source of self motivation. Give you an in-depth insight into your current state of health and gives you the means and motivation to make changes to your lifestyle.

PRE AND POST NATAL EXERCISE - FIT MUMMY 

Should a woman exercise during her pregnancy? Yes, if she follows certain guidelines. Guidelines for a prenatal exercise program should take into consideration the woman's initial fitness level and the physiological changes taking place in her body. Making exercise part of a daily or weekly routine is valuable not only for the duration of pregnancy, but also in preparation for labour and delivery by increasing strength, flexibility, endurance and stamina. Great health is not just about exercise, nutrition is very important , my knowledge about nutrition will be able to help you get on the right track when it comes to eating healthily. You can do all the exercise but without the correct eating pattern the exercise will be wasteful. I offer a nutritional assessment with any booking that includes going over your current nutrition and during your training what needs to change. Today people seem to think the way to lose weight is to purely eat less but that is completely the wrong way to look at it. I also provide you with food diaries to help you keep track of what you're eating making it easier to see where you're going wrong and how to change.
